Potter County agrees in principle to join Randall County overlay for Bushland Road; interlocal to be finalized

Randall County purchasing agent Ricky Garcia presented a coordinated overlay project for Bushland Road that would run continuously from Hollywood North to the county line and include a short Potter County section. Garcia told the court Randall County’s preferred bidder quoted $163,007.52 as an alternate cost to include the Potter County portion under the same contract.
Potter County commissioners agreed in principle to participate so the continuous overlay could be completed in one operation, but staff said an interlocal agreement between Potter and Randall County must be prepared before final approval. The court asked staff to prepare the interlocal agreement for a future meeting and indicated Potter County could reimburse Randall County or directly pay the vendor depending on which method the counties prefer.
Commissioners moved and seconded to approve the participation subject to formalizing the interlocal agreement; Randall County will be seeking its own award. The court recorded the motion as passing and directed staff to bring the interlocal agreement back for formal approval.
