Highway Superintendent Arec Burton reported routine winter preparation and bridge inspection findings to the commissioners. In the verbal update included in the minutes Burton noted crews were "doing normal day-to-day operations" and preparing for an approaching Saturday–Sunday snow event; he also said the department's new grader "is in customs at port in Baltimore." The department's written reports list multiple bridge problems including timber pile deterioration, additional beam deterioration at several bridges, and Bridge 91 having "critical deterioration" with a load posting reduced to 3 tons. Egis was reported to be preparing a complete draft inspection report for submission in late February.
Department staff described ongoing coordination with contractors (E&H Bridge, R.L. Vuckson) to evaluate repair plans and estimated costs. The minutes and accompanying highway bulletin note ten critical findings since Oct. 2025 and routine culvert and pothole work in the freeze-thaw season; commissioners were told EMA and highway personnel will coordinate on winter travel advisories.
