Lakemont Landing chosen by county over Penn Yan for second ESD grant round; supporters say housing will boost jobs

Presenters for the Lakemont Landing housing project (Kate Cronin, Devon Corbin and Roger Brandt) spoke to the committee and answered questions about the project's scope and objectives. During public comment, Jim McMullen and Bill Middlebrook urged support for additional housing countywide, arguing it would expand the available workforce for local employers.
The county also heard from Melissa Gerhardt, Village of Penn Yan Director of Public Works, who answered questions about the Village's Wastewater Treatment Plant 2nd Forcemain project (a separate ESD grant candidate). Committee discussion produced no objection to forwarding ESD-related resolutions to the upcoming Legislative meeting.
