“Police station renovation feasibility study, I had it slated for a $150,000 for FY 28,” staff said when describing the draft plan. Staff said the building is a retrofit (originally a telephone office) that lacks adequate parking, has window‑unit HVAC and constrained internal circulation, and that a feasibility study would identify needs, potential sites and funding opportunities.
Board members urged caution and asked that the study be used to explore options, to include community engagement and to identify grant opportunities that could offset town costs. Staff said the study would consider long‑range needs and could include examining a combined public‑safety campus as one alternative.
