EDA to align FY27 request with Strategic Plan; budget and Strategic Plan review scheduled for June

Director Cynthia Boone told the board she will present the EDA’s FY2027 budget request at the June meeting after receiving direction from the County Administrator, and that the request will concentrate on Market 5‑related marketing, events and associated expenses rather than countywide marketing.
Board members discussed separating Market 5 funding requests from general EDA operating expenses. Mr. Johnston urged earlier Strategic Plan review cycles to better align budget priorities with the plan adopted in April 2024. Ms. Boone recommended quarterly Strategic Plan updates beginning in June to provide progress reports and allow the board to guide implementation. The June meeting will focus on the Strategic Plan review and FY27 budget alignment.
