EDA backs Makers Line Market partnership for 'Shop the 5,' discusses limited alcohol trial

Board members supported efforts to boost foot traffic and discussed adding more food vendors and a beer truck for summer events. Attorney Lockaby advised that an Alcoholic Beverage Control license would be held by the vendor and the vendor would assume regulatory responsibilities, but the EDA still must exercise ordinary care to maintain safe premises. Ms. Boone said the Sheriff's Office would be notified in advance of events involving alcohol for additional oversight. Board members suggested a limited trial of alcohol service to evaluate operations before adopting it broadly.
