Officials to review $15,000 request from One Southern Indiana amid public concerns about county property sales

Al Knable said One Southern Indiana requested $15,000, and that staff (including Nick Creevy) should determine whether the request is cost-efficient; the Commissioners said they would take the request up internally.
During public comment, Dale Mann of Georgetown said "the wheel tax is unfair to agriculture and the farmer," noting he owns eight licensed vehicles with some used only a few times a year. Commissioner Frank Loop said he would pursue a motion if there is a way to exempt agricultural vehicles. Council member Dale Bagshaw said he favored disposing of the Grant Line Road building and shifting park boundaries to Green Valley Road. Knable said an efficiency study would cost about $75,000–$100,000 and asked whether the group was willing to accept consequences of such a study.
No funding or land sale decisions were made at the April 22 meeting; the One Southern Indiana request will be vetted by staff and the county will await appraisals and further discussion on property disposition.
