Brown County Treasurer Andy Bond reported to the Board of Finance that interest earnings for 2025 totaled $1,174,021.73, an increase from $1,040,346.01 the prior year. Bond told the board there were no changes to the county's investment policy and that the county's checking account remains with Peoples State Bank.
Commissioner Kevin Patrick moved to accept the 2025 Investment Policy and the accompanying reports; the motion passed unanimously. Commissioners asked questions about the general obligation (GO) bond interest and how neighboring counties' investment opportunities compare, and Bond said direct comparisons are difficult because other counties have different investment volumes and options. The Board of Finance adjourned after approving the policy.
