Derek Hagan, the courthouse renovation project manager, told commissioners he expects to finish first-floor offices in the next two weeks and then start work on the lobby. Commissioner Borgenheimer said the county is looking to purchase the First Financial Bank building, which he described as about 7,200 square feet, and said the county annex needs major repairs and is not ADA compliant; he said many offices could move if the county completes a purchase.
The board did not vote on a purchase at the July 7 meeting; commissioners discussed the potential move and ongoing renovation work. No financing details or formal appraisal information was presented during the session.
