Brown County names Corey Frost EMA director; Frost details multi-day winter storm response

The Brown County commissioners on Feb. 4 appointed Corey Frost as director of the Brown County Emergency Management Agency after Frost served as interim following the resignation of Chad Jenkins.
Frost delivered a detailed report on the county's winter storm response. He said briefings began Friday the 23rd, alert levels progressed from Yellow to Orange and then to Red by Sunday the 25th, and on Tuesday evening officials were informed of a ruptured 30-inch gas main. "We had to evacuate a half-mile radius around about 30 homes," Frost said; the evacuation was cleared at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. Frost specifically commended the Highway Department's response and coordination.
Commissioners recognized Frost's service with a presentation of a badge and accepted a supporting letter from the Emergency Management Advisory Council that described Frost as a capable, dependable emergency-management professional with more than a decade of experience working with local first responders.
