Brown County commissioners fill multiple board seats, re-adopt policies

The Brown County Board of Commissioners approved several appointments and reappointments at their Feb. 4 meeting, voting on nominees to the Board of Health, the Alcoholic Beverage Board, the Library Board, the Area Zoning Appeals Board and other county commissions.
Commissioner Kevin Patrick moved to reappoint Jim Zimmerly to the Board of Health; the motion passed 2–1 with Commissioner Ron Sanders recorded as abstaining. Patrick later moved to reappoint Chrissy Crandall; that motion carried unanimously. The board also appointed Dr. Timothy Hodges to the Board of Health by unanimous vote.
On the Alcoholic Beverage Board, Duane Parsons recommended reappointing Ross Benson; the commissioners approved Benson with a 2–1 vote (Ron Sanders opposed). The commissioners appointed Michael Harrison to the Brown County Area Board of Zoning Appeals after Harrison spoke about his experience. The commission agreed to re-advertise one Convention and Visitors Commission seat and removed a previously seated CVC member (Andy Szakaly) to open the position; commissioners appointed Rich Stanley to the other CVC seat.
Other actions included appointing Dan Floren to the Library Board (passed 2–1), retaining incumbents Tom Williams, William Callahan and Michael O'Neil for the Hamblen Township Fire District Board when no letters of interest were received, and reappointing Kyle Meyers to the Helmsburg Regional Sewer Board unanimously.
All appointments and reappointments were made by public motion and roll-call vote. The commissioners recorded each roll-call result in the meeting minutes.
