Forest Service says Angel Lake dam design moving toward SHPO review, construction possible this fall

Deputy District Ranger Wendy Markham (speaker 8) gave an update on Angel Lake, saying engineers are preparing a preliminary plan for the dam that will be routed to the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) for consultation. "We're waiting on a preliminary plan from our engineers, on the dam so we can update our proposed action, get it over to SHPO for consultation," she said.
Markham said the team completed a risk review and enlarged the spillway in design to address spring melt; once SHPO consultation and remaining NEPA steps are complete the Forest Service could put the project out for contracting potentially this fall.
