NDOT funding could return Greyhound service through Elko between Salt Lake and Reno, county transit staff says

A remote transit representative (identified by the chair as Kayla) told the commission that NDOT has allocated funds to Greyhound and that company is working to restore service that would run from Salt Lake to Reno with a stop in Elko. Kayla said the service is planned to operate seven days per week with two stops, though the exact stop location is under discussion (possible options include the airport or an existing bus stop site such as a casino) and arrangements are still being finalized.
Kayla said she is coordinating with Greyhound staff to identify a landing location and will follow up with the commission. Commissioners welcomed the prospect; one noted the community has not had Greyhound service in a long time and encouraged coordination with airport and downtown partners.
"So we'll actually have a Greyhound bus that runs, from basically from Salt Lake to Reno and with a stop here in Elko," Kayla said, adding the company was seeking a suitable stop location and that she would follow up on logistics.
