At its session the Porter County Commission opened with the pledge and a roll call; the chair confirmed a quorum and the body moved through several routine items, approving the June 23 minutes and July claims by voice votes. No members of the public stepped forward during the public comment period.
Beyond the approvals, staff provided a status report on the Monokee Prairie Trail and requested action on contracts and estimates: the Schneider Geomatics contract was approved to correct a routing oversight, the commission approved a not-to-exceed $1,000 cap for buyer-side title fees for the U.S. Highway 20 property and a $5,985 not-to-exceed survey authorization, and the board approved milestone pay applications 3, 4 and 5 pending receipt of lien waivers. Committee member (speaker 2) moved to adjourn and the meeting ended shortly thereafter.
