Turner described early work on landscaping concepts for the La Porte Library, noting irrigation and drainage issues and the need for more resilient, low‑maintenance palettes. She asked the council to consider a budget item to support committee operations and to include Keep La Porte Beautiful in review of developer landscape plans; council members agreed the committee should have input on screening and planting standards. "We got 19 trees in the ground...the economic impact of this was $37.45," Turner said, and she urged collaboration with the parks department and DDG (landscape architect) on planting plans and maintenance.
