At its Jan. 15 meeting the Elko County Planning Commission took the following formal actions:
- Appointments: Mark Wetmore approved as 2026 chair; vice chair reappointed (voice votes). - Minutes: Approved minutes from the Dec. 18, 2025 meeting (one abstention recorded). - CUP25-012 (Borealis Fuels and Logistics): Approved a conditional use permit for a propane storage and transfer facility in Ruby Mountain Industrial Park with conditions that include compliance with Nevada Revised Statutes, Elko County Code, NDEP and the State Fire Marshal; new CUP required if ownership changes within six months. - VAR25-005 (Kenneth Cox, 337 Mercury Avenue): Approved variance to reduce front-yard setback to 25 feet and side-yard setback to 12 feet for an existing 12-by-30 carport; deed language required if property conveyed.
All motions carried by voice vote.
