Staff says Title 5 rewrite underway; Spring Creek roadway expectations to be set by county commission

Corey Rice, Elko County surveyor and senior planner, told the commission he is working on an update to Title 5, which governs development criteria for subdivisions and parcel maps. Rice said the rewrite is "pretty involved" and he hopes to complete it by midyear but that competing priorities may delay the work.
On Spring Creek roadways, Rice said the county will not pursue an ordinance and instead will rely on expectations set by the Board of County Commissioners. Commissioners praised the building department for identifying noncompliant structures and asked staff to continue enforcement; several commissioners also noted ongoing microphone and speaker-system problems in the meeting room that complicate remote/in-person proceedings.
