Planning commission names Mark Wetmore chair and reappoints vice chair
Summary
At its Jan. 15 meeting the Elko County Planning Commission unanimously approved Mark Wetmore as chair for 2026 and approved the sitting vice chair for the coming year; commissioners confirmed a quorum and approved routine minutes.
Chair Scott called the Elko County Planning Commission to order at about 5:17 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. The commission opened nominations for its 2026 leadership and received a nomination for Mark Wetmore as chair; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Commissioners then nominated and approved the sitting vice chair for 2026. Chair Scott also noted that with four commissioners present — Roach, Hartley, Jefferson and Gavorski — the body had a quorum required to conduct business. The commission approved the minutes from its Dec. 18, 2025, meeting after a member who had been absent from that meeting abstained.
