Local CAB members expressed skepticism about broad regulation or bans. "I'm not really in favor of banning the contest," one member said, arguing regulation would not address the larger concerns and would be hard for law enforcement to enforce. Henry Krinker and other outfitters argued a licensing requirement would not be a burden for most Nevada participants but could impede out-of-state contestants. Members discussed potential compromise measures (licensing, limited seasons, insurance or disposal requirements) and noted the subcommittee had not yet finalized language for a formal proposal.
The CAB did not adopt a formal position to push the commission toward banning contests; instead members signaled caution about overreach and recommended staff seek more clarity from the contest committee before acting. The issue remains under state-level consideration.
