Giddens also described station alerting software that integrates CAD dispatch with mobile alerts to send the appropriate unit to a call, which staff said should reduce unnecessary engine responses and improve ISO rating prospects.
Council supported the high‑fidelity training purchase and the alerting upgrades while asking staff to clarify funding sources and long‑term operational savings. Multiple speakers emphasized grant opportunities for specialty apparatus (for example FEMA for some emergency vehicles) and asked staff to prioritize grant‑dependent purchases.
