La Porte outlines $27M Lomax sewer project and how it addresses recurring pump and sewage issues

The total of that project is gonna be $27,000,000," a staff presenter said, and added the work will remove nine aging lift stations, replace about 20,000 feet of gravity sewer and build a regional lift station on the west side of the airport.
Staff said the project has been in planning since about 2018, secured a Texas Water Development Board loan and will continue for at least a year to two years more; the presenter said residents should expect ongoing construction activity. Staff acknowledged individual damage, pump failures and that not every pipe has yet been replaced despite prior funding.
Officials encouraged residents to meet staff on site and promised follow-up inspections for specific addresses raised during the meeting.
