The Elko County Board of Fire Commissioners approved Item E2, authorizing procurement of a heavy-duty chassis to remount a quick-attack vehicle at a not-to-exceed amount of $75,000. Chief Matt Peterson said the chassis remount is needed because the previous quick-attack unit had reached the end of its useful life.
Chief Peterson told the board Gallagher Ford recently joined the state purchasing program, which provides a competitively procured price so the district would not need to solicit separate bids. "Gallagher Ford actually just joined the state purchasing program so we don't have to go bid for it," he said. A commissioner moved and another seconded the item; the board approved it by voice vote.
