Simpson said some patient‑experience measures—nursing communication, staff responsiveness and discharge planning—rank in the hospital's higher percentiles, with some measures reaching the 90th percentile. He also reported "we have had 0 harms" in the referenced period and said the hospital went more than six months without a hospital‑acquired infection while caring for slightly more than 1,000 patients over that period.
On capital spending, Simpson said the hospital spent about $5.2 million on equipment replacement through the third quarter and finished the year closer to an $8 million reinvestment into the facility. Major purchases and projects included a new CT scanner, a portable x‑ray purchase and replacements for operating‑room tables.
Simpson said the hospital posts its scorecard publicly and is using leader rounding and improved bedside shift reports to drive further gains in patient experience.
