The Gooding County Board of Commissioners temporarily appointed Chief Deputy Clerk Jackie Fuqua as Acting County Clerk following an executive session on personnel. The board recorded the executive session under Idaho Code §74-206(b) and later voted to change Fuqua’s status to an exempt employee at $42.78 per hour for a 40-hour workweek.
Commissioner Vern Eames made the motion to change Fuqua’s status and Commissioner Ronald Buhler seconded; the motion carried. The board specified the appointment is temporary "until County Clerk Denise Gill comes back or a new clerk is appointed," per the motion recorded in the minutes. The executive session that preceded the appointment began under the cited personnel statute and recessed at 10:28 a.m.
