Committee approves $75,000 from Bath renovations capital project

The Steuben County Agriculture, Industry and Planning Committee on Feb. 4 authorized the county to spend $75,000 from the Bath Community Services Building Renovations Capital Project (COMSVCBATH) to complete interior work at the Bath office and tint windows at the Hornell office. Mr. Rose told the committee the work produced space for up to six additional offices and was completed internally.
"There is $108,000 available in the account and all of the work has been done internally," Mr. Rose said as he requested the authorization. The motion, made by Mrs. Logsdon and seconded by Mr. Volino, carried 3-0.
Chair K. Michael Hanna later asked if the building was paid off; Jack K. Wheeler, a county staff member, replied the county still has several years remaining on payoff for all three office locations. The committee did not alter the motion or add conditions. The authorization directs the Commissioner of Public Works to spend the approved amount from COMSVCBATH.
