Court approves purchase of 19 Motorola portable radios for county fire rescue

Commissioners approved the purchase of a Motorola radio package for Potter County Fire Rescue, consisting of 19 portable radios and associated chargers, speakers and battery packs. The purchase was budgeted as part of this year’s replacements.
Richard, who presented the item, said the county is pursuing a phased replacement plan so radios remain serviceable as software updates change over time: "Basically these radios are gonna go until they can no longer update them… we were looking at 25 a year over a multi year plan to just keep them rotated," he said. The motion to approve the purchase passed 4–0 with funds to come from the CAD account.
