Commissioners approved the negotiated contract with Tri State General Contractors for the District Courthouse Phase 2 project and adopted the financial log staff presented for tracking project expenditures.
Project staff told the court the current owner‑associated cost and contractor figures together produced a known project cost of $3,344,414 and noted a 10% contingency had been included. The project manager said the contractor negotiation was complete and that staff would issue a notice to proceed after bonds, insurance and AIA contract documentation were in order.
The court also heard about a forthcoming change order from the general contractor driven by rising material costs and Federal tariffs; staff said the change order will be brought back for formal processing once the AIA contract is fully executed. The court approved the contract and financial documentation 4–0 and authorized staff to continue contract closeout steps and preconstruction scheduling.
