O’Brien said about 70% of MIH patients were over age 65 and that Phase 2 of the program, which began in December, is projected by county staff to produce substantially larger savings. O’Brien described the program as contributing to both patient care and county cost reductions but framed the larger Phase 2 savings as a projection rather than a confirmed figure.
Commissioners did not take a separate vote on program spending at the meeting but discussed potential mobile health service funding items during the FY2027 budget presentation.
