Camas Fire Department asks county for SRS Title III funds to repair wildland truck

Josh Bovey, Captain of the Camas Fire Department, presented a request for SRS Title III funds to repair a wildland fire truck and to procure equipment and supplies needed to bring the apparatus up to code. Bovey told the board the department is currently operating two aging rigs that sometimes fail to run when needed and provided a detailed list of the parts and equipment required for repairs.
The request was recorded in the minutes as a formal presentation to the board; no vote or dollar amount for the funding request was recorded in the June 15 minutes. Commissioners later noted the sheriff had a separate SRS request and at the end of the meeting Sheriff Travis Martin said the fire department's request was larger than his department's at this time.
