The Coosa County Commission voted unanimously on Sept. 10 to allocate up to $15,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) revenue-replacement funds to the Coosa County Chamber of Commerce to develop and support a new chamber website. Commissioner Bertha K. McElrath moved for Chairman Lamar Daugherty to sign the resolution, and the motion carried without opposition.
The adopted resolution states the allocation will be treated as revenue replacement under Treasury guidance and requires a funding agreement between the county and the Chamber. The resolution specifies that funds may be obligated no later than Dec. 31, 2024, and must be expended by Dec. 31, 2026, and assigns the county ARPA program director oversight responsibility to ensure eligible costs.
