The Vernon County Commission voted Jan. 14 to approve the Vernon County Soil and Water Conservation District’s request to hold its annual meeting on March 28 in the old Home Ec/Diner building at the county fairgrounds. Commissioner John Shorten moved to approve the request and Commissioner Cindy Thompson seconded; all three commissioners voted yes.
The request was presented and recorded as part of the regular business of the meeting. The minutes note the location and date of the event but do not record additional conditions or funding tied to the approval. The commission had earlier noted that Commissioners Wilson and Shorten traveled to the northern part of the county to observe a grinder demonstration; that site visit was listed separately in the minutes. The commission adjourned at 4:12 p.m.
