Michael Peters, a Porter resident at 28 1st Street, asked the board to prioritize what he described as a small, inexpensive fix to remove a 6-inch PVC pipe he says was not installed to code and is restricting drainage on his property.
"My impression was that I wasn't getting a response to my emails," Peters said, describing persistent water accumulation. Staff acknowledged the problem and explained that small tasks are often bundled to generate contractor quotes; the board and staff agreed the cul‑de‑sac removal is a "strong contender" to be lumped with other short projects to make bidding feasible.
The board also discussed limited in-house capacity and using the newly approved mini-excavator once it arrives; members emphasized surveying and combining several small repairs to get competitive bids rather than dispatching contractors for single, very-small items.
