Board approves special-use permit for private Onward Christian Academy campus on Leesville Road

The planning commission recommended approval with a condition that the site broadly conform to the narrative submitted with the application.
Applicant Bob Weaver, representing Onward Christian Academy, described plans for six buildings and an attendance model in which two groups of roughly 250 students alternate days (one group Monday/Wednesday, another Tuesday/Thursday). Weaver said the project team is coordinating grading, drainage and a commercial entrance with VDOT, and will evaluate septic feasibility with the Virginia Department of Health. He said only a portion of the property would be developed and that existing tree lines and buffers would be preserved where possible. The board received no public opposition during the hearing and voted to approve the special-use permit.
