Staff said they would give the contractor a grace period through Aug. 20 to finish the HVAC corrections and complete the required tests; if the work is not complete by that date the manager said the county would ask the court to enforce liquidated damages. The manager emphasized some issues were caused by existing 30‑year‑old equipment that the county itself must repair in order to meet the TAB requirements. Commissioners asked for ongoing updates and for the project team to return to the court if the deadline is missed.
