Carlin manager reports recent RTC‑funded projects and asks about funding for urgent cattle guard work

Richard Braithwaite, city manager for Carlin, updated the commission on completed and upcoming road work, thanked the commission for RTC funding that supported two completed projects and said a major road project has been awarded and will begin in the spring.
Braithwaite asked whether Carlin could request additional RTC funds to cover the cost of replacing a cattle guard that falls within a Department of Transportation easement. County staff responded that cities generally must use their allocations but that the county could consider donating funds or assisting if resources were available; staff recommended Braithwaite contact Dennis to estimate costs and explore options.
Braithwaite also said he will submit photos of completed projects to the commission; commissioners praised the city’s progress and encouraged continued coordination on funding requests.
