Fire Chief Adam Springsted reported that the Porter Fire Department responded to 44 calls in May: 36 medical calls, five motor vehicle accidents, one brush fire, one power line down and one vehicle fire. He said the department used about 1,200 gallons of water during the month.
Chief Springsted said the storm siren on Hale Avenue is not rotating and needs to be replaced; he said, "a new siren costs about $22,000.00," and that the pole for the siren will be donated to the town. The board did not record an appropriation at the meeting for the replacement siren.
