James Jenkins, Jr. of Combined Insurance appeared before the board with associate Mark McDaniel to describe a supplemental insurance plan available to town employees. Mark McDaniel told the board, "Combined Insurance is a secondary insurance not a primary insurance," and said the plan would cover eligible remaining costs after primary insurance and offer accident, hospitalization, critical‑illness and disability coverage.
The presentation noted premiums would be paid by employees through payroll deductions and Mayor Steve Dickey said employees will look over the plan; the board did not take immediate action at the meeting.
