Porter trustees approve board staffing of cemetery donation table, outline repairs needed

Vice‑Mayor Norma Meyer brought a multi‑point list of maintenance needs at the Porter Cemetery and asked the board to act. Meyer said section markers need marking on both sides, headstones need straightening, the pavilion needs paint and seating, gravel should be extended to the pavilion pad, the Oklahoma flag needs replacement and the big flagpole requires lighting, and directional signs should be placed at Highway 51B/Main Street and by the park.
Meyer said volunteers collect donations on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before Memorial Day and on Memorial Day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. She moved that all board members sit at the cemetery and take donations; the motion was seconded by Kevin Walker and carried with four votes in favor and one opposed (Bradah Littlefield).
