The Sheriff told the committees a single bid of $25,000 was received to replace countertops in the jail booking area and recommended acceptance because the counters are original, worn and failing. "We got 1 bid in the amount of 25,000, so we'd like to accept that bid," the Sheriff said.
After moving and seconding the award, the committee approved the bid. The Sheriff also moved to authorize a $9,000 transfer from the public safety building reserve to the jail equipment account to cover the booking countertop project; when asked whether that amount included installation the Sheriff confirmed the bids are for fully installed countertops. The Chair then called the vote and the motion carried.
