VDOT official says crews prioritized snow response, outlines spring road projects for Dinwiddie County

Yowery listed several projects that will affect Dinwiddie County in the coming months, including UPC 126122 (a box‑culvert replacement affecting Dinwiddie and Prince George) and UPC 112718 (Reese Road), which he said is expected to begin late spring. He also said latex and cape‑seal work is scheduled to start early spring and finish late summer. On planning, Yowery said the secondary six‑year plan cycle will begin roughly 30–60 days and VDOT will coordinate with county staff on projects and scheduling.
Board members raised localized maintenance concerns, including large potholes on a segment of Highway 40 outside McKenney and requests for improved signage and shoulder widening on back roads. Yowery agreed to record the maintenance requests and to work with county staff on timing and prioritization. The presentation concluded with the county and VDOT agreeing to discuss projects at the March workshop and to coordinate on the six‑year plan.
