County IT staff reported that bids for a Santa Fe Building fiber upgrade came in significantly under earlier estimates and recommended awarding the work to Master e Networks at a cost of $158,916.
David (county IT staff) told the court the project — previously estimated at roughly $325,000 — came in at $158,916 and that funds are budgeted in capital equipment. After questions from commissioners, the court moved, seconded and approved authorization for the upgrade on a 5–0 vote.
Staff said the new fiber will support up to 100 Gbps to future-proof county connectivity; the Santa Fe Building is a central network point for county operations. The court recorded approval and directed staff to proceed with procurement and timetable coordination with county operations.
