Vernon County accepts low bid for Springer Bridge; Mera Excavating awarded contract

Vernon County opened bids for BRO-R108(45), the Springer Bridge on Trapper Road, and accepted the low bid from Mera Excavating, LLC in the amount of $1,250,645.65. Great River Engineering representatives Lindsey Chaffin, PE, CFM, and project engineer Zach Olivas reported three bids: Hartman & Company, Springfield, Missouri, $1,495,000.00; Sprouls Construction, Lamar, Missouri, $1,642,178.50; and Mera Excavating, LLC, Bonnots Mill, Missouri, $1,250,645.65.
The minutes state the bid from Mera Excavating, LLC was accepted. Great River Engineering noted that a related BRO-R108001 project will have bids opened in April and that projected construction in 2026 will not encroach onto any of the landowners in the area. Commissioner Joe Wilson signed documents related to BRO-108(45 during the meeting.
