Commission holds annual organization meeting, elects officers

The Planning & Zoning Commission opened its July meeting by calling roll and confirming a quorum before taking up routine business and its annual organization. Chair (speaker 1) called for nominations and the commission nominated Paul Kunkmuller for chair, Robert Boris for vice chair and Jason Rusk for secretary; each nomination was approved by voice vote. "We have a quorum," the chair said during roll call.
Commissioners used the annual meeting to review the process for amending bylaws and to agree that substantive changes should be proposed with adequate notice and review. The chair read the bylaw amendment threshold in Article 4 (noting a 0.667 vote is referenced in the text) and commissioners asked staff to post and distribute current bylaws to members. The commission closed the annual organization and resumed the zoning regulation review that comprised most of the agenda.
