Board approves consent calendar, ELOP plan and audit items; staff reports on enrollment and maintenance

At the Jan. 15 meeting, the Lammersville Joint Unified School District board approved routine consent items including meeting minutes, contracts under $50,000, personnel ratifications, fundraiser updates, intra-district transfers, warrant lists, overnight trips and small donations. The motion to approve the consent calendar passed with five ayes and no nos.
In action items, trustees approved the 2024–25 Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) annual plan as required by the state and selected the independent auditor recommended through a county-run RFP process for a three-year audit cycle. Staff presented the annual audit for the year ending 6/30/2024 and reported there were no findings; the board accepted the audit.
The superintendent reported a district enrollment of 8,014 students. Director LeGrand provided a maintenance and operations update that summarized winter-break work orders, kitchen-hood and fire inspections, pool and field maintenance, pending playground part shipments and progress on the high school classroom building, which remains on schedule for substantial completion at the end of June.
All three action items (ELOP, auditor selection and audit acceptance) passed on motions that carried unanimously. Trustees thanked staff for the work and asked for follow-up reporting on ELOP implementation and contractor onboarding for the newly approved service contracts.
