The board approved a facilities lease and preconstruction services contract with Robellin Contracting Inc. for Neighborhood J and K school projects and district support facilities. Adam Villacara, identified by staff as the principal project lead for Hansen, Cortis, Costa and the district office expansion, joined the item and explained the preconstruction services will generate more accurate cost data before a full construction contract is brought back to the board.
"This is pre-construction services, so they kind of get organized and give us a cost — the cost starts to pull together and all that so we can then build a construction contract for our Neighborhood J school," staff said. The board moved to approve the contract, which carried with five ayes.
The contract amount cited in the agenda was $213,212. Trustees emphasized the need to finalize cost estimates quickly and align preconstruction work with the district’s CFD and state funding plans. The approval authorizes staff to proceed with preconstruction coordination and follow-up project budgeting, to be returned to the board with more detailed construction costs and schedules.
