The Jackson County Board of Commissioners voted on a slate of routine but consequential items at its Jan. 7, 2025 meeting. Commissioners Drew Storey and Drew Markel moved and seconded a series of motions that carried unanimously (two yes votes): reorganization of the board naming Drew Markel president and Matt Reedy vice president; approval of meeting minutes for Dec. 3 and Dec. 24, 2024; payroll dated Dec. 27, 2024 in the amount of $547,366.88; and claims for Jan. 7, 2025 totaling $31,805,295.27.
The board also approved signing authority for an aerial imagery contract, accepted bid results for highway work, and agreed to pay claims on Jan. 21 when requested by Treasurer Hans Eilbracht. Several approvals were presented as motions and passed on unanimous voice votes; none of these items produced dissent recorded in the minutes. The board recessed and set the next regular meeting for Jan. 28, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
