Mayor Steve Dickey urged the Town of Porter Board to hire two employees to handle mowing at the cemetery, parks, rights-of-way and other town property and to cut and trim trees and brush. Supervisor Jackie Todd said the positions would be full time; the Board approved the hires unanimously.
The Board approved pay of $15.00 per hour and agreed that the town would "conduct an evaluation of the employees after 60 days" to determine their employment status. The motion specified that Supervisor Jackie Todd would select the employees; the board also agreed the workers could be reassigned from mowing during emergencies.
