Porter board swears in two new members and elects Steve Dickey mayor, Norma Meyer vice-mayor

The Town of Porter administered the oath of office to newly elected board members Steve Dickey and Kevin Walker at the start of its May 8 meeting. Town Clerk Shirley Herring administered both the oath of office and the loyalty oath before Mayor Bradah Littlefield called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.
During the meeting the board held leadership elections. Norma Meyer nominated Steve Dickey for mayor, a motion seconded by Kevin Walker; the board voted unanimously in favor (Bradah Littlefield, Steve Dickey, Norma Meyer, and Kevin Walker). In a subsequent vote Steve Dickey nominated Norma Meyer for vice-mayor, seconded by Kevin Walker; that motion also carried unanimously. The elections and oaths complete the board’s immediate organizational actions for the new term. The meeting adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
