Commissioners back Ambulance District boundary expansion plan; townhall planned for Volland

Emergency Management Coordinator Amy Terrapin told the commission the Ambulance Board reviewed a resident complaint about a response from Ambulance District #1 (Morris County) and recommended expanding Ambulance District #2’s boundary into Washington Township to include the Volland area. Terrapin said the board also recommends adjusting Fire District #6’s boundary to match the proposed ambulance boundary "for ease of communication and understanding for all Emergency Services."
Commissioners accepted the Ambulance Board's recommendation and agreed to hold a townhall meeting in the Volland area to present the proposal to local residents and gather public comment before any formal boundary change is finalized. No formal boundary alteration or vote was recorded at the Feb. 23 meeting; the item was presented as a recommendation and a public engagement step was scheduled.
