Sheriff John Walker told the commission that he had hired Teely Signer as a full-time deputy and that Deputy Signer will attend the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center starting Dec. 2, 2024.
Walker also said a body-camera grant in the amount of $16,000 has been approved for the sheriff's office and requested replacement of a rotted sign in front of the office. He asked for an executive session to discuss courthouse security; the minutes record the executive session and that no action was taken after the security session.
